Kate Piil
Artist Kate Piil.
Written by Janne Regius, psychotherapist with an interest in Art.
Kate is passionate about challenges when creating her works of art and she likes to work under pressure.
She is project and process oriented, and often uses installation art to express the inspiration that runs through her.
She takes great care in her color composition, which is always full of contrast and often colorful, i.e. she manages to choose many different colors, while at the same time making it both elegant and simple.
Kate wants to tell a story with her works, and often works around themes such as social realism and sustainability.
She never gives her abstract images any title because she does not want to limit the viewer's way of seeing the works. It should be free and open for everyone to enjoy them in their own way, Kate believes.
In a fine and creative way, Kate mixes old paintings with her abstract expressions.
It is done in such a way that she cuts up both images and sews them together again, so that it becomes a new expression that brings out the contrasts in both the colors and the motifs.
