I am self-taught and have worked with photographic art for many years. I mainly work with a genre that I call photographic fiction. Photographic fiction lies in the tension field between fiction and reality. It is not 'true' photography in the sense that the finished image represents something that a camera has ever 'seen'. By digitally combining elements from several images, a fiction is created. A new reality is being created that has never existed and will never exist.
It is a completely invariable principle that I work exclusively with my own photographs when creating my fictions. I do not download images from the internet, although it can be done completely legally, and I do not borrow from others. The starting point is photographic realism. The result is photographic fiction.
